Abstract
In this study, genetic nature and heritability type of secondary branches/plant, pods and seeds/plant, biological yield and seed yield/plant of chickpea was assessed by evaluating the six lines and their crosses (half-diallel) in a randomized complete block design with three replications under stress and non-stress conditions at the Agricultural Research Station, sarabchangaei, Khoramabad during the agricultural year of 2002/3. Analysis of variance indicated that there is enough genetic variation for all traits. After achievement of diallel assumptions according to Jinks-Hayman's (1953) approach for all traits, estimation of genetic parameters according to Hayman's (1954a) approach indicated that changed gene action from environment another and supported more importance of non-additive gene action in control all traits by estimation of decreasing heritability and existence of over-dominance in graphic analysis
