Abstract
Application of biometrical procedures in Pearl Millet has been reviewed. The components of genetic variation from diallel, line x tested and North Carolina designs revealed presominance of non-additive variance for majority of traits. However, the use of selfing series and modified triple test cross revealed the importance of additive variation for many characters. The general and specific the predominance of the latter for most of the quantitative traits.
