Abstract
When 'Dh 8'groundnut (Arachis hypogaea Linn,) was artificially defoliated 60 and 30 days after germination it showed 8.64% reduction in the pod yield and 7.35% reduction in the 100.kernel weight, The pods/plant were found to be affected when defoliation exceeded 50%. A maximum and minimum pod yield of 1.83 kg and 0.01 kg/plot was observed when no defoliation was made 30 days after germination and when 100% defoliation wan done 60 days after germination, respectively.
