Abstract
Bavistin (carbendazim) treatment of groundnut plants inoculated with groundnut green mosaic virus suppressed symptom expression, increased shoot and root length, the number of pegs, pods and leaves, the leaf area and the dry wt of shoot, roots and pods, and decreased leaf abscission, compared with untreated, inoculated plants. Carbendazim treatments of virus-free plants resulted in further improvements in the values of these growth parameters above those of treated, inoculated plants and untreated, uninoculated plants which had values similar to each other
