Abstract
The tobacco budworms, Holiothis spp., are the prime insect pests of flue-cured tobacco grown in the Mareeba-Dimbulah production area of far north Queensland. Although regular insecticide applications usually maintain larval populations of these pests below economically damaging levels, the desirability of an integrated pest management approach in reducing insecticide dependence and fostering alternative control techniques has been recognized.
