Abstract

The grain yield of pigeonpea was obtained by sole pigeonpea (1988 kg /ha) and the lowest when pigeonpea was intercropped with rajmah (1060 kg /ha). Three rows of mungbean intercropped in pigeonpea gave highest grain yield (1391 kg/ha) than three rows of rajmah intercropped in pigeonpea (1332.kg/ha). However, pigeonpea equivalent yield, net returns, LER and benefit cost ratio were higher with pigeonpea + mungbean inter cropping system (30.00 q /ha, Rs 33,553 /ha, 1.34 and 3.23 respectively) over sole crop of pigeonpea (19.88 q /ha, Rs. 24,512 /ha, 1.00 and 2.51 respectively).
