Abstract

The purpose of this investigation was to determine the effects of cultural practices and induced resistance on the expression of Fusarium root rot. This study was threefold. First, to evaluate the effect of various cropping sequences on the development of bean root rot and the associated micro flora; second, to determine the effect of soil temperature and moisture on the micro flora of a "root rot " soil; and third, to investigate the role of enzymes in root rot resistant and susceptible plants by comparing the characteristics of genetic and induced resistance to root rot.
