Abstract

Established stands of alfalfa (Medicago sotiva L.) and tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Shreb.) were each sampled four times daily during the initial growth period and during one regrowth period. Sudangrass (Sorghum sudanense Stapf.) was sampled four times daily during one growth period. In addition all three species were sampled at 3-hour intervals during a 3-day intensive sampling period in mid-July.
