Abstract
During the last decade, significant progress has been made in the field of weed control. Numerous papers have been published dealing with weed control; new methods of applying herbicides and many new chemicals have been developed in this period. However, very little fundamental information has been obtained on weed competition. Although the presence of weeds in agricultural crops has brought tremendous losses to agricultural producers all over the world, these losses have been much underrated in the past.
