Abstract
Experiments were conducted on the interaction between population and growth of pearl millet ( Pennisetum typhoides ) growing in West Africa and groundnut (Arachis hypogaea) in India. Millet was planted at three spacings: 38 x 20 cm (narrow), 75 x 20 cm (medium) and 150 x 20 cm (wide), and groundnut at four spacings: 35 x 10 crn (A), 70x 10 crn (B),120 x 10 cm (C)and 120 x 120 cm (D). In the millet experiment, irrigation was terminated a t 15 days after sowing (DAS) and in the groundnut at 44 DAS.NO subsequent rain fell in either experiment....
