Abstract
On the basis of rainfall and crop yield data for the Amreli district of Saurastra, Gujarat in 1953-78, a model was developed for groundnut yield prediction over a range of moisture regimes. The critical stages for irrigation were germination, vegetative development and full pegging-pod development. It was suggested that this model could be useful in scheduling irrigation for groundnuts cultivated during summer (Feb.-May) and winter (Nov.-March) in addition to the traditional monsoon season in the region
