Abstract
Aflatoxins, a group of metabolites produced primarily by members of the Aspergillus fluvus group, have received much attention since their discovery in 1061 (6, 8, 9). Peanuts and other agricultural products may become contaminated with these metabolites during harvesting, storage, or transportation if conditions are favorable for these fungi to grow. Since aflatoxins are acutely toxic and chronically carcinogenic to many animal species (1, ll), they represent potential public health hazards
