Abstract
The on farm trial was conducted in Maharajganj district of Uttar Pradesh on three farmers field, during rabi 2007–08 to 2008– 09 on chickpea. The IPM package under Maharajganj district applied (a) intercropping of chickpea with barley (4:1 ratio) (b) spraying of NSKE 5% at pre-flowering stage, (c) spraying of HNPV @ 250 LE/ha at 60% flowering and (d) spraying of insecticide Endosulfan 35 EC @ 0.07% at 50% pod formation. The average production of chickpea increase 51.78 per cent and control the pod borer up to 60.0 per cent through IPM practices and gain the additional net returns of Rs. 13660.00 per ha over farmer practices. Farmers of the chickpea area of district are much convinced about IPM practices effect for control of pod borer in chickpea.
