Abstract
A primary goal of most maize breeding program is increased yields. Increased yields are frequently accompanied by changes in other characteristics of the plant populations. Some of these changes are of agronomic significance while others are of interest only because of their possible relationships with yield. Changes in some traits are desirable while changes in others are not.
