Abstract
There is a strong movement in agriculture today to revaluate the standard "row crop" pattern. The old system of the wide row is now giving way to the narrow-row, high-density plant population pattern of planting. Many workers (Mack and Hatch, 1968; Lehman and Lambert, 1960; Nunez and Karnprath, 1969) have indicated that narrow rows with direct seeded crops planted on the squire have increased yields.
