Abstract

Four high-yielding cultivars representing two subspecies and four market types of peanuts were crossed in diallel without reciprocals. The F1 hybrids were grown at two locations and F2 populations at one location in North Carolina. These populations were evaluated on an individual plant basis for fatty acid composition using refractive indices of the oil expressed from seeds. Refractive indices were converted to calculated iodine values (C.I.V.'S).
