Abstract

The cultivated peanut, Arachis hypogaea L., Leguminosae family is grown on approximately forty-five million acres in the world. Since the peanut cotyledon are rich in protein, oil and vitamins, peanuts are a favourite food for man as well as feed for poultry and livestock in many areas of the world.
