Abstract

Groundnut crop was monitored from harvesting to storage of the pods for the occurrence of C. serratus in 2010 in Tumkur, Karnataka, India. A total of 200 samples (100 samples from the field and 100 from threshing yards and near households) were collected and observed daily for the presence of immature stages (eggs and grubs) of C. serratus and pod damage for 10 days. Out of 100 samples from the field, only 4 samples were found to be infested by the pest. Among the 100 samples from threshing yards and near households, 6 samples were found infested
