Abstract
With two alleles per locus, partitioning of the hereditary variance of diploid populations factorially into additive,dominance, additive by additive and higher order components depends only on the assumption that genotypic frequencies are proportional to the marginal frequencies of the phases(AA, Aa or aa) of each locus (COCKERHAM 1954).
