Abstract

In this book for the student and those lacking adequate library facilities, chapts. deal with media and nutrient solutions; disinfection and sterilization of equipment and media; isolation of bacteriophages, actinomycetes, bacteria and fungi; diagnosing plant diseases; increasing inoculum; establishment of disease; preservation of microorganisms; and microscopic techniques. A brief chapt. on writing for publication by G. B. CUMMINS is included and there is an appendix on humidity control. Each chapt. ends with a comprehensive bibliography and there are a list of organisms and an index.
