Abstract
This monograph on "Groundnut" written by Shri C. R. Scshadri, Joint Director of Agriculture (Planning 8~ Development), Government 'of Madnr, is the fifth in the series of monographs on oilseeds, that was programmed to be published by the Committee at its meeting held on the 22nd October 1966. India stands first amongst the groundnut-growing countries of' the world both in terms of acreage and production and accounts for new two-fltths (43%) of the world acreage and one-third (36%) of the world Production but in point of average yields per acre, India stands only the ninth in rank, out of the twelve major groundnut-producing countries of the world...
