Abstract
In twenty-one groundnut hybrids substantial genetic variability was observed for shoot biomass, harvest index and immature pod number per plant. High heritability and high genetic advance were also observed for these attributes. Harvest index, mature pod number per plant and specific leaf area were associated with each other and also with kernel yield, indicating that selection for these attributes will be helpful in improving the productivity of groundnut.
